Have you seen how professional balloon decorators can make any event look spectacular? Who would have thought the humble little party balloon could make such an impact. A lot of people think that it is easy to create balloon decorations, and to a certain extent it is. With a few balloons, some helium and a bit of imagination you can easily create some simple table decorations. The real art is in the more complex designs, where the professionals really let their imaginations take over and nothing seems to be beyond them.
Perhaps you have seen the recent Wispa advertisement? The amazing balloon decorations took around 8 hours to set up, with a team of professionals working together to create a stunning backdrop for a well loved chocolate bar. (footage available here for those interested).
I tested myself recently with an inflatable champagne bottle and some small white balloons. The idea was to create the effect of bubbles emanating from the top of the bottle, and for a first attempt I was very pleased with the outcome. Unfortunately my fingers still haven’t recovered from tying all those knots, so I think my technique needs some working on!
So I now have another technique to add to my growing repertoire, and my stock room is being filled with latex balloons of all colours and sizes. If you would like a quotation for an event and you are in North Yorkshire or Teesside please get in touch.
So, what other designs are available? Well, the sky is the limit really. A simple search on google shows you some of the more popular designs, including a string of pearls and table centrepieces with 3 or more balloons. You can have cloud nines, balloons inserted into other balloons (double bubble) and more.
A lot will depend on your event. At a birthday party or wedding simple arches and columns work really well. With the range of colours available now the decorations can usually be matched to your theme as well.
Space is another important factor to consider. In the picture opposite, my original plan was to use a cluster of balloons on the arch, creating a spiral balloon effect (as shown below). However this would have dominated the room too much, so we opted for a more elegant string of pearls instead.

Of course, you can have your arch to highlight a top table at a wedding, or the cake table, or even to highlight a doorway into your venue (although we prefer using a mix of columns and arch for this.) Whatever your occasion, and whatever your budget, your decorator will certainly be able to create something stunning for your party, just using a few simple balloons and some expertise!
